Bipartisan Record and Leadership Not Enough to Secure Victory
Nov. 4, 2020 – The Committee for Stronger Rural Communities released a statement following the announced results of the House election to Minnesota’s 7th Congressional District:
“We first want to recognize Rep. Collin Peterson’s record of public service on behalf of every family in MN-07. His only ambition was to serve us, and despite the results of today’s election, we know he served us well. Collin’s bipartisan record on health care, lowering prescription drug prices, trade and farm policy, was simply not enough to overcome the partisan bitterness that is dividing our nation,” said Kelly Erickson, CSRC Steering Committee chairman. “We at the Committee for Stronger Rural Communities still believe that we can work together in an effort toward compromise and doing what’s right. To that end, we offer our congratulations to Michelle Fischbach, and our members look forward to working with her on the issues that matter most to rural Minnesotans.”
