Press Release: Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation PAC Endorses Peterson

CSRC: Peterson’s Bipartisan Farm Policy Record Matters to Every Family

Sept. 1, 2020 – Citing his record of support for policy positions to benefit agriculture, the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation Political Action Committee (MFBF PAC) endorsed Rep. Collin Peterson, chairman of the House Agriculture Committee, in his campaign for re-election.

Composed of county Farm Bureau members, the MFBF PAC chose a bipartisan slate of House officeholders to endorse this political cycle. In addition to Democrats Peterson, MN-07, and Angie Craig, MN-02, the MFBF PAC also endorsed Republican Reps. Jim Hagedorn, MN-01, and Tom Emmer, MN-06, and Pete Stauber, MN-08.

Among the MFBF policy goals are support for fair trade deals, preserving the Renewable Fuel Standard, better protection for dairy farmers, and a common sense “waters of the U.S.” rule under the Clean Water Act. The endorsement is considered critical in Minnesota farm country.

The Committee for Stronger Rural Communities (CSRC) welcomed the MFBF PAC endorsement of Rep. Peterson.

“We agree that Chairman Peterson is the only one in this race who has the bipartisan record of effective leadership for Minnesota’s 7th Congressional District. In his role as Chair of the House Agriculture Committee, Collin has again and again shown that he is willing and able to work with his colleagues across the aisle, and bring people together on legislation that offers solutions to farm families,” said Kelly Erickson, chairman of the CSRC Steering Committee. “Peterson is the independent, effective leader we need in Congress representing Minnesota’s 7th Congressional District.”

About the CSRC:

A bipartisan committee, CSRC champions a policy agenda to strengthen rural America by supporting federal candidates who can make a significant, positive impact on rural America. In 2020, CSRC is focusing on the reelection of Rep. Collin Peterson, MN-07, because of his leadership and record of accomplishment on rural issues.
